Hello! Today, I will be mentioning five small daily habits that can make a positive impact on your mental health! It is important to start the new year with a positive mindset and use these habits to enforce a better mental state.

  1. Get Good Sleep

It is crucial for each person to get the recommended seven to nine hours each night. A study that was published a few years ago states that the people who did not have an average of six hours of sleep per night were reported to be 2.5 times more likely to face mental health problems. Also, in order to get a good amount of sleep, it is important to restrict caffeine intake, not to take naps after 3 p.m., create a sleep schedule, and have a good temperature set for night time.

2. Have Good Relationships with the People You Love

It is important to keep in touch with the relationships that are important to you since it reduces lonliness, adds meaning to your life, and gives you the opportunity to connect with others. Throughout the week, make sure that you communicate with your loved ones through text or calls and set dates and times to meet with your family or friends. This maintains your social health and helps develop healthy relationships while also giving you the opportunity to express yourself.

3. Restrict the Amount of Time Spent On Social Media

Social media can have an extreme negative impact on the brain and mental health in many ways (I have previously created a blog post that discusses all of the disadvantages of social media on a person and their mental health in detail if you want to check that out). In order to create a better mindset, it is important to resuce the amount of time that is spent on social media by putting all electronics away in a secured place for a certain amount of time, spending time with doing other activities, and even deleting social media apps off of your device.

4. Eat Nutritious Meals

Eating nutritous meals has a huge impact on the brain and how it functions (I have previously created a blog post that discusses all of the benefits of eating nutritious meals on the brain in detail if you want to check that out). It is important to incorporate all of the five food groups (fruits, vegetables, dairy, grains, and protein) into your daily life to ensure that the brain has all of the nutrients it needs to function properly. This will have a significant positive impact on the brain's function.

5. Go Outside

It is crucial for each person to be outside for at least twenty moments each day. This causes the body and brain to let go of stress, take a break, improve mood, and feel more relaxed. Also, going outside each day can increase healthy blood levels since the body is getting exposed to the sunlight. Overall, going outside for at least twenty minutes daily can have benefits for the body and the brain.

I hope that this blog post inspired some people to incorporate these daily habits into their lives, especially with the new year coming up. Thank you for reading!!!
