Drinking enough water each day is such a crucial part of being healthy. Water has many benefits and a massive impact on our bodies and lives! In this blog post, I will discuss five reasons water positively affects our bodies.
Brain Performance:
When an individual consumes enough water daily, they will have a better sense of memory, concentration, and reaction time. Even if someone is slightly dehydrated, it could lead to the brain having difficulty with the problems listed above. However, if an individual drinks the right amount of water, their brains can stabilize their emotions and help with anxiety. The brain is approximately 75% water, and it uses water to help communicate with different brain cells.
Energy:
Consuming enough water helps speed up the body's circulation, which helps bring oxygen to the brain. Drinking water also helps with the heart being able to pump oxygen to the whole body easier. This is because a lack of water and fluids can make it harder for the heart to pump enough oxygen for the entire body. When this happens, it decreases the energy level that the body has, and it will make it harder for the body to stay awake and concentrate on a task.
Regulation of body temperature:
If someone goes outside in the heat for an extended amount of time, they will begin to sweat. This occurs because the body tries to regulate its temperature or maintain homeostasis. If the amount of sweat that was produced is more than the amount of water that the individual consumed, it can lead to hypohydration. Therefore, the body needs enough water to maintain homeostasis (regulate the body temperature).
Healthier Heart:
As mentioned, the heart needs water to pump enough oxygen to the body quickly and smoothly. Dehydration causes the heart to work harder to achieve this, which can cause an irregular heartbeat or palpitations. However, dehydration can also cause the blood to become thicker and slowly make the blood vessels constricted. If dehydration becomes a reoccurring problem, this can lead an individual to experience heart attacks in the future.
Reduction of Joint Pain:
Water provides a protection layer in between the joints. Water lubricates the joints, which helps reduce the amount of friction that occurs frequently. When an individual is dehydrated, it can create an increased risk of experiencing more joint pain. When an individual is not consuming enough water, the body's system of removing toxins begins to slow down. This can cause swelling, eventually leading to pain throughout the body and joints.
I hope that this blog post was informative to you and helped you learn about how significant of an impact water has on our bodies! Please make sure to drink enough water each day! It is recommended for women to consume 2.7 liters of water and for men to drink 3.7 liters daily!!!
