Foods containing added sugars:


Some foods that follow under this category are cookies, some types of yogurts, sugary cereals, cake, pastries, and candy. Many people already eat an excess amount of sugar each day, making these foods more harmful. Consuming added sugars should be controlled and limited to the least amount possible. Some things that tend to occur from continuing the consumption of foods with added sugars are problems with blood sugar, an increased risk of heart disease, and possible weight gain.




Refined carbohydrates:


Foods that fall under this category are French fries, some types of breakfast cereals, white rice, white bread, crackers, pizza dough, pasta, and many other items. Consuming these foods harms the human body since they can increase blood sugar levels, lead to heart disease, obesity and weight gain, mood disorders, bad cholesterol, hyperactivity, increased hunger, and food cravings.




Foods with increased amounts of salt:


Some foods that contain added salt are pretzels, soups, bread, chips, processed snacks, canned beans, canned entrees, and canned meats. All of these foods are bad because they can result in high blood pressure, strokes, heart disease, bloating, and swelling in different parts of the body.




Processed meats:


Examples of this category of food are cold cuts, sausage, bacon, beef jerky, hot dogs, ham, pepperoni, and turkey. Consuming an excess amount of these foods can lead to cancer, heart disease, diabetes, increased cholesterol levels, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.




Hydrogenated fats:


Some foods that follow this category are cakes, cookies, pies, popcorn, French fries, doughnuts, fried chicken, frozen pizza, rolls, and biscuits. Hydrogenated fats can harm the human body because it causes inflammation and calcification of arterial cells. Consuming too many foods with huh hydrogenated fats can lead to harmful cholesterol levels and an increased risk of heart disease and stroke.
